FLOODING POSSIBLE ACROSS PARTS OF THE BARKLY AND CARPENTARIA CATCHMENTS OVER THE COMING DAYS

A monsoon low lies over the Gulf Country in Queensland and extends a trough to the Barkly and northern Tanami Districts in the Northern Territory. The low is expected to slowly drift south over the next couple of days. Widespread showers and isolated heavy falls have contracted to the Northern Territoryâ€"Queensland border.

River and creek level rises, overland flow, and isolated flooding in low-lying areas are possible across many inland parts of the Flood Watch catchments. This is expected to affect many roads over the coming days. Check road conditions before travelling.

Towns River

Limmen Bight River

Rosie River

McArthur River

Robinson River

Calvert River

Settlement Creek

Nicholson River

Georgina River and Eyre Creek(rainfall expected in northern parts of catchment)

Barkly(rainfall expected in eastern parts of catchment)
