Damaging winds with a vigorous front over the southeast from
Friday morning.
Weather Situation: Strong north to northwesterly winds are
expected to develop ahead of a vigorous cold front tracking through
the south of the Territory early Friday morning. Winds are expected
to shift westerly in its wake during the day, easing
conditions.
DAMAGING WINDS averaging 55 to 65 km/h with peak gusts around 90
km/h are possible about the far southeast of the Territory from
late Friday morning. Winds are expected to ease below warning
conditions by Friday evening.
Locations which may be affected include Ali Curung, Jervois,
Barrow Creek, Ampilatwatja and Simpson District east of
Finke.
The Northern Territory Emergency Service advises that people
should:
* secure loose outside objects and seek shelter when conditions
deteriorate
* ensure pets and animals are safe
* be prepared in case of power outages, have an emergency kit with
a radio, torch, spare batteries and first aid kit
* for emergency help in floods, storms and cyclones, contact the
