MODERATE TO MAJOR FLOOD WARNINGS CURRENT ACROSS INLAND
CATCHMENTS
A trough in western Queensland is drawing deep moisture inland.
Widespread showers and storms with areas of heavy rainfall are
expected to continue for the next few days across the Flood Watch
area, which may result in minor to moderate flooding, with isolated
major flooding possible.
The trough is likely to move towards the southeast bringing
moderate to heavy rainfall over the southeastern quarter of the
state from Friday, shifting the flood risk area. The situation is
being closely monitored and watches and warnings will be updated as
required.
Catchments within the Flood Watch area are wet. Minor to major
flood warnings are current for catchments across parts of the North
Tropical Coast, Gulf Country and inland regions.
Localised river level rises, and flash flooding are likely within
the areas of heaviest rainfall. Localised flooding, isolation of
communities and disruption to transport routes are possible within
the Flood Watch area over the next few days.
A Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall is current for parts
parts of Channel Country and Maranoa and Warrego Forecast
Districts.

Settlement Creek
Nicholson River
Leichhardt River
Norman River
Gilbert River
Macintyre River
Weir River
Moonie River
Wallam and Mungallala Creeks
Flood warnings are current for the following catchments: Bulloo,
Diamantina, Thomson, Barcoo, Cooper, Eyre Creek, Georgina,
Flinders, Cloncurry, Paroo, Warrego, Herbert, Ross, Bohle, Burdekin
and Haughton.
