WIDESPREAD MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING EXPECTED AND ISOLATED MAJOR FLOODING LIKELY IN THE FLOOD WATCH AREA OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS

A trough in western Queensland is drawing deep moisture inland. Widespread showers and storms with areas of heavy rainfall are likely. This rainfall is likely to continue across the Flood Watch area for the next few days.

Catchments within the Flood Watch area are becoming wet with recent rainfall.

Widespread showers and storms are expected to continue for the next few days. Further areas of widespread rainfall with locally heavy falls are possible, which could lead to localised flooding.

A Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall is current for large parts of the Flood Watch area.

River level rises and minor to moderate flooding are expected across parts of the Flood Watch area during this week, with isolated major flooding likely.

Settlement Creek

Nicholson River

Leichhardt River

Norman River

Gilbert River

Belyando and Suttor Rivers to Burdekin Falls Dam

Cape River to Burdekin Falls Dam

Burdekin River to Burdekin Falls Dam

Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam

Warrego River (QLD)

Paroo River (QLD)

Flood warnings are current for the following catchments: Bulloo, Diamantina, Thomson, Barcoo, Cooper, Eyre Creek, Georgina, Flinders, Cloncurry, Herbert, Ross, Bohle, and Haughton.
