Flood Watch Number: 3

WIDESPREAD FLOODING EXPECTED AND ISOLATED MAJOR FLOODING LIKELY IN THE FLOOD WATCH AREA OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS

FLOOD WARNINGS CURRENT FOR PARTS OF THE LAKE EYRE BASIN RIVERS

A deep surface trough lingers in the far west of the state, producing widespread showers and storms with areas of heavy rainfall likely. This rainfall is likely to continue across the Flood Watch area for the next few days as an inland low pressure system develops.

Catchments within the Flood Watch area are becoming wet with recent rainfall.

Widespread showers and storms are expected to continue for the next few days. Further areas of widespread rainfall with locally heavy falls are possible, which could lead to localised flooding.

A Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall is current for large parts of the Flood Watch area.

River level rises and minor to moderate flooding are expected across parts of the Flood Watch area during this week, with isolated major flooding likely.

Catchments likely to be affected include:

Settlement Creek

Upper Flinders River

Lower Flinders River

Cloncurry River

Norman River

Gilbert River

Warrego River (QLD)

Paroo River (QLD)
