Severe thunderstorms with isolated heavy rainfall through central Queensland.

Weather Situation: A surface trough situated inland draws a very humid and unstable airmass across central Queensland. This is producing slow-moving lines and clusters of showers and thunderstorms that are leading to locally heavy rainfall this morning.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Proserpine, Charters Towers, Eungella, Mingela, Airlie Beach and Mount Garnet.

Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Central West district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.

187 mm was recorded at Teemburra Dam in the 6 hours to 2:25am.

121 mm was recorded at Stafford Crossing in the 3 hours to 1:23am.

150 mm was recorded at O'Connell in the 3 hours to 11:43pm.

75 mm was recorded at Mt Emu Plains in the 3 hours to 10:00pm.

Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
