Showers and thunderstorms with heavy rainfall about the Central Coast of Queensland.

Weather Situation: A trough is combining with a moist and unstable airmass about the Central Coast of Queensland to produce training showers and thunderstorms with heavy rainfall this morning.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Proserpine, Eungella and Airlie Beach.

Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the North Tropical Coast and Tablelands, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Herbert and Lower Burdekin and Central Highlands and Coalfields districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED.

108 mm was recorded at Sandy Plateau in the 3 hours to 3:07am.

201 mm was recorded at Teemburra Dam in the 6 hours to 2:54am.

141 mm was recorded at Stafford Crossing in the 3 hours to 1:59am.

150 mm was recorded at O'Connell in the 3 hours to 11:43pm.

75 mm was recorded at Mt Emu Plains in the 3 hours to 10:00pm.

Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
