Ex-Tropical Cyclone Kirrily likely to produce heavy rainfall over
parts of western Queensland.
Weather Situation: Ex-Tropical Cyclone Kirrily is currently
located to the west of Winton. It is forecast to remain slow-moving
over the remainder of the weekend.
HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is forecast for
the area approximately bounded by Iffley, Richmond, Winton,
Davenport Downs, Selwyn and Cloncurry. 6-hourly rainfall totals
between 60 to 90 mm are likely, with isolated falls up to 110 mm
possible. 24-hourly rainfall totals of 90 to 120 mm are likely,
with isolated falls up to 180 mm possible.
INTENSE RAINFALL is no longer expected, but remains possible with
severe thunderstorms. A separate Severe Thunderstorm Warning will
be issued if VERY DANGEROUS THUNDERSTORMS with INTENSE RAINFALL are
detected.
Severe weather will remain in western Queensland this weekend,
with future severe weather subject to the position and strength of
ex-Tropical Cyclone Kirrily.

Locations which may be affected include Winton, Cloncurry,
Richmond, Julia Creek, Davenport Downs Station, Selwyn, Mckinlay,
Iffley, Cloney's Creek, Brighton Downs and Corfield.
Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger
asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes
out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be
identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are
dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has
passed.
