Severe thunderstorms across western parts of the state are moving east.

Weather Situation: A trough lies across the southwest with a warm and moist airmass to its north over the North West Pastoral district. A strong upper jet over the northwest of the state will aid the development of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Maralinga, Oak Valley, Cook and parts of the Great Victoria Desert.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Move cars under cover or away from trees.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.
