For people in Logan and parts of Ipswich, Gympie, Somerset, Scenic Rim, South Burnett, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane City and Moreton Bay Council Areas.

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 5:15 pm, very dangerous thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Kilcoy and the area west of Kilcoy.

These thunderstorms are moving towards the north to northeast.

Very dangerous thunderstorms are forecast to affect the area north of Woodford by 5:45 pm.

Other severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near the area between Boonah and Beaudesert, Harrisville and the area between Nanango and Goomeri.

They are forecast to affect Jimboomba, Peak Crossing and Elgin Vale by 5:45 pm and Logan Village, Bundamba Lagoon and the area south of Amberley by 6:15 pm.

Heavy, locally intense rainfall that may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding is likely.

Mt Stanley (near Kilcoy/Somerset Dam) recorded 55 mm in 1 hour to 4:13 pm

Gregor Creek (near Kilcoy/Somerset Dam) recorded 80 mm in 1 hour to 5:00 pm

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
