For people in Cherbourg and parts of Ipswich, Gympie, Logan, Somerset, South Burnett, Toowoomba, Brisbane City and Moreton Bay Council Areas.

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 5:55 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near the area northeast of Kingaroy, Cherbourg, Logan Village and Somerset Dam.

These thunderstorms are moving towards the northwest to northeast.

They are forecast to affect Logan Central, Wondai and Murgon by 6:25 pm and Ipswich, Archerfield and Mount Mee by 6:55 pm.

Heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding is likely.

Mt Stanley (near Kilcoy/Somerset Dam) recorded 55 mm in 1 hour to 4:13 pm

Gregor Creek (near Kilcoy/Somerset Dam) recorded 80 mm in 1 hour to 5:00 pm

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
