RIVER AND CREEK LEVEL RISES AND LOCALISED FLOODING POSSIBLE ACROSS
THE FLOOD WATCH AREA FROM SATURDAY
A tropical low is expected to bring heavy rain in parts of
Kimberley and North Interior Catchment over the weekend and into
early parts of next week.
Catchments in Kimberley are relatively wet and catchments are dry
across the Sandy, Tanami and Western Desert
Moderate to heavy falls are possible in the Flood Watch area from
late Friday into Saturday morning. Widespread rainfall totals of
50-120 mm with isolated heavier falls up to 180 mm are possible
during Saturday. During Sunday into Monday, daily totals of 30-100
mm with isolated heavier falls up to 250 mm are possible.
Severe weather warning for heavy rainfall is current in parts of
Kimberley and North Interior.
Significant river, creek, and stream level rises are likely with
heavy rainfall, as well as overland inundation with areas of
localised flooding possible across the Flood Watch area.
Many roads, including secondary highways may be affected. Some
communities and homesteads may become isolated. Check road
conditions before travelling.

Flood Safety Advice:
DFES advises people and communities to be aware that flooding is
possible and be prepared to relocate equipment and livestock. Watch
water levels. Travellers need to be aware that road conditions may
be adversely affected and travel plans may need to be reconsidered.
Do not drive into water of unknown depth and velocity.
