Intensity: Category 1, sustained winds near the centre of 75 kilometres per hour with wind gusts to 100 kilometres per hour.

Tropical Cyclone Dianne has developed and will cross the coast overnight, most likely northeast of Derby between Kuri Bay and Cape Leveque. Although damaging winds are unlikely after TC Dianne weakens over land during the weekend, heavy rainfall is likely to extend through inland parts of the Kimberley and adjacent parts of the North Interior.

Hazards:
Gales with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS to 100 kilometres per hour likely to develop in coastal areas between Mitchell Plateau and Beagle Bay during this evening and Saturday morning. The most likely risk period for gales at Derby is during the early hours of Saturday morning.

HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is possible in parts of the northern and western Kimberley, extending further inland parts of the Kimberley and adjacent parts of the North Interior over the weekend. Refer to Severe Weather Warning for details bom.gov.au/wa/warnings/

As the system approaches and crosses the coast tides between Derby and Mitchell Plateau may rise above the normal high tide mark, but the sea level should not exceed the highest tide of the year.
